Warwick
Warwick is approximately 10 miles from Eriba Glade and is the county town of Warwickshire. It is famous for it’s magnificent castle and historic charm. It also boasts of having one the oldest racecourses in the country. Many events are held throughout the year both at the Castle and in the town.
Stratford upon Avon
Stratford upon Avon is the birthplace of William Shakespeare. It is set on the banks of the river Avon and is one of the moat popular tourist attractions in the UK. The newly reopened Royal Shakespeare Theatre has a busy programme throughout the year and is always worth a visit but it is wise to book early.
Royal Leamington Spa
Just three miles from Warwick, Royal Leamington Spa is a fashionable town with Georgian and Victorian architecture, tree lined avenues and squares and glorious gardens. Leamington has a deservedly good reputation for shopping and eating with a high number of speciality shops and restaurants. The Royal Pump Rooms house the town’s museum and art gallery.
Rugby
Rugby is a small market town and the birthplace of Rugby Football. Enthusiasts can visit the Rugby Football Museum, follow the ‘Pathway to Fame’ trail and visit the Hall of Fame situated in the Library. The famous Rugby School is open for guided tours at particular times of the year too.
Rugby has been regional winner of Britain in Bloom on a number of occasions and a visit to Caldecott Park to see the floral displays is recommended. Rugby Art Gallery hosts temporary exhibitions of contemporary visual art and craft and the museum has a permanent display of Roman artefacts.
Coventry
Coventry is well known for its cathedral found in the heart of the city. Is is open daily to visitors and for guided tours. Coventry is also the home of the Coventry Transport Museum and it’s unique collection has been ‘designated’ as a collection of national importance.
